Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 9, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Shift Log+ (“Shift Log+,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use our mobile app, website, and related services (the “Service”). It applies to information collected through the app and this website; it does not apply to Apple, Google, or other third parties’ own services.

1. Who is responsible and how to contact us

Shift Log+ is the app and service identified in the Apple App Store and Google Play listing. The publisher operating the Service is responsible for the information described in this Policy. For privacy requests, questions, or complaints, email contact@shiftlogplus.com.

2. Information we collect

Information you provide to operate the app

  • Account and authentication information: your email address, account identifier, optional display name, and a password verifier. We store passwords in hashed form, not as plain text.
  • Work and pay information: information you choose to enter, such as jobs and labels; clock-in and clock-out times; breaks and notes; pay rates and schedules; overtime and double-time settings; time-off and holiday entries; tips, mileage, deduction, retirement, and similar settings; and exported reports. This information may be financial or other user-generated content, depending on what you enter.
  • Subscription information: the platform, product, purchase or transaction identifier, entitlement status, and expiry or renewal information needed to verify and provide a subscription. Apple and Google process the payment itself; we do not receive or store your payment-card number.

App, device, and usage information

When you use the app, we collect information needed to secure, sync, support, and improve it. This can include an app-generated device identifier, account identifier, session identifier, platform, device type, operating-system version, app version, locale, request timestamps, diagnostic and crash information, and limited feature-interaction events. Our first-party analytics records product events such as onboarding, shift-tracking, and subscription-flow interactions; they are not used for advertising or cross-app tracking.

Website information

The website uses Google Analytics. Google Analytics may collect online identifiers and information about your browser, device, pages visited, and interactions with the site through cookies or similar technologies. We use those reports to understand site usage and improve the website. The website’s calculators run in your browser; we do not ask you to create an account to use them. You can manage cookies through your browser settings. For more information about Google’s handling of data, see Google’s Privacy Policy.

3. How we use information

We use information to:

  • create and secure accounts, authenticate users, sync information across devices, and provide requested features;
  • calculate and display user-configured estimates, reports, and exports;
  • verify subscriptions, provide customer support, respond to requests, and communicate about the Service;
  • detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, and security incidents;
  • diagnose errors and understand aggregate product and website use; and
  • comply with applicable law and enforce our Terms of Service.

We do not sell personal information, use app data for cross-context behavioral advertising, or use your work or pay information to build advertising profiles.

4. How information is shared

We share information only as needed to operate the Service or when required by law. Recipients may include:

  • Service providers that provide infrastructure, hosting, security, email, diagnostics, analytics, or customer-support services. They may process information only to provide services to us and must protect it appropriately.
  • Apple and Google when you use their stores to purchase or restore a subscription. Those stores process payments under their own terms and privacy policies.
  • Authorities or other parties when we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to comply with law, respond to valid legal process, protect rights and safety, or investigate fraud or a security incident.
  • A successor organization if the Service is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, subject to applicable law.

We do not share your information with unrelated third parties for their own direct-marketing purposes.

5. Retention and account deletion

We keep account and app data while your account remains active and for as long as needed to provide the Service. You can request permanent deletion in the app or on our Delete Account page. The web page requires account credentials to protect against unauthorized deletion.

After a valid deletion request, we delete the active account, synced application data, and account-linked analytics data from our active systems and invalidate active sessions. We may retain narrowly limited records when necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, accounting, dispute resolution, or to prevent a deleted account from being improperly restored. Those records are not used to reactivate the account or for marketing. De-identified or aggregated information that no longer reasonably identifies you may be retained.

Deletion of an account does not itself cancel a subscription purchased through Apple or Google. Manage or cancel that subscription through the relevant store. See our Terms of Service for details.

6. Security and security incidents

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and secure password hashing. No system, transmission, or storage method is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we identify a security incident involving your personal information, we will investigate, take reasonable steps to contain it, and provide notice when required by applicable law.

7. Your privacy choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction, deletion, or a copy of personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data-protection authority. To exercise a right, email contact@shiftlogplus.com. We may request information needed to verify your identity and will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable rights.

8. International processing

We may process information in the United States and other countries where we or our service providers operate. Those countries may have data-protection laws that differ from those where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

9. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13, or the minimum age required in their country. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

10. Legal bases where they apply

Where a legal basis is required, we process information to perform our contract with you, pursue legitimate interests such as security and service improvement, comply with legal obligations, and, where required, with your consent.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy as the Service or applicable law changes. We will post the updated Policy here and change the “Last updated” date. For material changes, we will provide additional notice when required by law.
